The “ Pastel Expressions” Exhibit at SAMA Ligonier was a great success. PPAL and CPPS produced a fine array of paintings for this exhibit, and juried it well. SAMA did a beautiful job of displaying our work and promoting it online and with their very informative brochure. On August 20, CPPS president, Marianne Fyda, will give the closing demonstration and talk for the participants at the Al'Art Luncheon at SAMA Ligonier. Members of PPAL gave pastel demos at the June and July luncheons.
The show will close on August 23. Pickup dates for artist work are August 25-27, 2015. Marianne announced at the meeting that Suzanne DeSarbo is willing to pick up paintings, but people need to email her to make arrangements beforehand. chrissue1@aol.com
Jeanne McKinney is showing a painting in the Art Association of Harrisburg's 87th Annual International Juried Exhibition from May 15 through June 18, 2015.
She is also showing a painting in "Pastel Expressions" - Joint Exhibition of Central PA Pastel Society and the Pittsburgh Pastel Artist League at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Ligonier, PA. The show runs May 1 through August 23, 2015.

The Pastel Expressions show opened on May 1 and on May 3 SAMA of Ligonier Valley was a participant in the local Museum Day. A joint PaintOut with CPPS and PPAL was held on the museum grounds and it was a lovely day for Plein Air painting. The event was well attended and there was lots of interest in the painters and the show. Attending from PPAL were Patricia Young, Rita Kambic Haldeman, Diane Grguras, Marian Sallade, Karen Frerrick and Nan Hought. Anne Kenyon attended from CPPS.

On May 3rd, members of our pastel society will participate in a paint-out from 2pm-5pm on the grounds of the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Ligonier during the “free museum day” there. (However, if anyone wishes to paint all day, they are welcome to do so.) There were 40 paintings chosen for the “Pastel Expressions” show which will be held at the Southern Alleghenies Museum this summer from May 1- August 22, 2015. This show is a joint venture between two pastel societies, the Pittsburgh Pastel Art League and the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society. Judges from the CPPS were: Virginia Belser, Kim Gates Flick, Marianne Fyda, Susan Nicholas Gephart, Susan McCartney, Jeanne McKinney and Michele Montes.
This year a series of online adventures are being planned. Our hope is to have more member participation which will allow us to get to know each other...
