Judy Leasure, Workshop Coordinator

Artist Judy Leasure lives in Smethport, PA with her husband, Charles, and a charming Bedlington Terrier named Wills. Since her arrival, she has actively participated in the arts community in McKean County and nearby surroundings. In October of 2010 she was juried into the PA Wilds Artisan Trail program. While she enjoys floral and still life painting, Judy specializes in pet and animal portraits in pastel. Her work is realistic and she works hard to capture the spirit and personality of her animal subjects. She especially enjoys working in miniature and has had several of her works included in various miniature shows. Judy has exhibited at the Apple and Cheese Festival in Canton, PA, the Oil Heritage Art Show in Oil City, PA, and has had works selected for the Annual Juried Art Show at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center in Wellsboro, PA, the Seaside Art Gallery in Nags Head, North Carolina, a juried miniature show in Chambersburg, PA, The Degas Pastel Society bi-annual show, the Pastel Society of North Florida bi-annual show, and a show at the Fredericksburg Center for the Cultural Arts in Fredericksburg, VA. She is part of the teaching staff at the Sawmill Center for the Arts in the Cook’s Forest and is a Gallery Artist at Artworks at the Depot in Kane, where she has also taught workshops. She also teaches classes in her home studio and on line using Skype. In January of 2012, Judy was elected to membership in the Pastel Society of America as a Juried Associate Member. Today she specializes in pastels and also works occasionally in oils. Her classes include pastel and colored pencil. She offers custom pet portraits and other commission work. Judy is also a parttime resident of Williamsburg, VA, with plans to move there permanently in 2016. She currently has work in the Gallery at York Hall in Yorktown, VA.
