Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society
April 26, 2015 meeting

The quarterly meeting of the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society was held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Best Western Plus, Premiere Drive, State College, PA. In attendance were: Milt trask, Joan Engle, Judy Wilson, Debbie Decker, Jill Foster, Pamela Cistaro, Jennifer Shuey, Denise Wagner, Mary Rohrer-Dann, Kim Gates Flick, Anne Kenyon, Marianne Fyda and Pat McDannel.

Prior to the business meeting:

Anne Kenyon of the Program Committee, presented a pastel activity, "The 20 Stroke Apple", based on an exercise by Barbara Court Jaenicke. We all had fun, and learned to make our strokes a bit more concise. Jill Foster presented a view of the new Newsletter and CPPS Website which she and Anna Crane have developed. Anna will be the new webmaster, and will assist Jill with the monthly newsletter.

The business meeting was opened by President Marianne Fyda. The secretary's report was accepted as was the treasurer's report, which had been sent out via email due to Susan McCartney"s absence at the meeting.

IN UNFINISHED BUSINESS Marianne provided some final details on the Pastel Expressions Exhibit in Ligonier. Several people plan to demonstrate on May 3. Anne Kenyon and Susan Nicholas Gephart offered to transport anyone who wanted to attend.

MIKE BEEMAN workshop now has 12 registrants and 1 or 2 day participants will be considered. It was noted that we are drawing people from a much wider area than before. The dates for the workshop are August 7-9. Final payment is due by July 15. There have been some requests from participants for room sharing. Contact Judy Leasure or Marianne Fyda if you are interested in sharing.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE is now known as the Education Committee. It consists of Kathleen Muffie-Witt, Anne Kenyon and Virginia Belser. Anne gave a report and suggested that committee members should rotate one member off and one new member on each year. They need feedback from members as to content of programs.

A NEW WORKSHOP CHAIRMAN is going to be needed as Judy leasure is leaving the area. Judy has offered to assist the new chairman in the items necessary to organize a workshop. (Please note! Judy is still with us and doing a great job, but she is moving to Williamsburg, VA ... She will train her replacement!!!!!).

IN NEW BUSINESS- Jill was thanked for the work she has done on providing a new format for our newsletter. Jill will provide a newsletter monthly. Anna Crane will be our new webmaster and will be paid an hourly wage for the website. Kim Gates Flick made the motion to pay Anna $15 per hour, and added, that we should set a time to evaluate her performance and her pay and bring it in line with what we were paying Karl Leitzel. The motion was seconded by Milt Trask and carried.

CPPS LIBRARY was discussed. If you would like to borrow an item from the library please contact Susan Nicholas Gephart so that she will bring it to the next meeting. This will save money and effort on using the postal system to dispense items.

CPPS BIRTHDAY COMMITTEE will be made up of Judy Wilson, Jen Shuey and Denise Wagner.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE for 2015 will be chaired by Denise Wagner. You may volunteer or others will be appointed.
