Opportunities in CPPS

Have you been wondering how you might contribute to CPPS?  Are you looking for avenues to participate in a deeper, more meaningful way?  If so, please consider the following opportunities and let Virginia (vcb2@psu.edu) know of your interest:

 

Available now: VICE-PRESIDENT

The Vice-President:

  • Presides at meetings and assumes other duties as necessary when the president is absent and unable to fulfill his/her responsibilities.  

  • Assists in coordinating and publicizing the Pastel Society’s activities and exhibits.  

  • Assists the president in managing publicity and related public relations activities for special events and exhibits.

 

Available in the near future (current Secretary is tending to an infirm parent and will be unable to keep up with Secretary responsibilities as the illness progresses): RECORDING SECRETARY

The recording secretary:

  • Is responsible for recording and reporting the minutes of all Pastel Society meetings.

  • Maintains a permanent file of minutes, which shall include all treasurer reports.

  • Assists the president in managing publicity and related public relations responsibilities.

 

Available in Nov. 2017: TREASURER

The treasurer:

  • Deposits funds received in the Pastel Society’s bank account(s) and keep accurate records of receipts and disbursements.

  • Reconciles the checking account and maintains a file of bank statements, canceled checks and receipts for purchases and bills paid.

  • Issues checks for all bills submitted to the society, or for special purposes, as directed by the president. Both the treasurer and the president shall be authorized to sign checks.

  • Presents an updated financial report to the membership at each general meeting.

  • Prepares and files appropriate state and federal information forms.

  • Processes membership applications and renewals, maintains a current membership roster, and formally notifies members by email or by USPS of termination due to non-payment of dues.
