Judy Leasure sent information on the Marla Baggetta workshop being sponsored by the Pastel Society of Virginia. November 14-16, 2015 (Veteran's Day weekend).
The interesting thing about this workshop is that the Society is offering $100 off the original $400 registration price. You will pay $300 for the workshop and this includes your 2015-2016 membership in the PSV. As a member, you would then be eligible to enter the PSV show being presented at the US Geological Surve

The morning features Brienne Brown, a local watercolorist, showing how to use a limited watercolor palette to create strong values for an underpainting. In the afternoon, Anne Kenyon will continue our journey using watercolor on sanded paper in preparation for the final layers of soft pastel.

On September 13, four members of the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society performed a pastel paint-around in support of the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania’s Good Spirits fundraiser at Seven Mountains Wine Cellars. Jennifer Shuey, Kim Gates Flick, Virginia Belser, and Roxanne Naydan each started a painting for 20 minutes, then rotated around to each other’s' paintings for another 15 minutes each, and then finished up on the painting that they started.
